Ecoscore assessment consists in determining the carbon offset projects with the highest reliability. Specifically developped by EcoAct, Ecoscore methodology applies to voluntary carbon offset projects.

Each offset project proposed to our clients is examined through an in-depth risk analysis: “Ecoscore”. This model was based on ISO 31000:2009 – Risk Management.

In practical terms, out of 30 classic risks (legal, industrial, social, environmental, financial risks etc), 7 major risks factors are measured. Each one is sorted on a 1 to 5 scale (in conformity with the Turin scale: 5 being the more risky).

As a result, each project bears an average risk level and one can decide whether to select it or not.

As such, it is a great guarantee of transparency.
