As an Associate Partner of Convergences World Forum, EcoAct will measure and offset the carbon footprint of the event.
Through an online questionnaire available to all attendees, EcoAct will assess the CO2 emissions of the Forum. Participants will then be able to vote for one of the pre-selected internationally certified carbon reduction projects to offset the emissions of the event:
Menegalli – Using biomass residues to produce energy – Brazil
Madre de dios – Protecting forests through sustainable forestry practices – Peru
UgaStoves – Reducing fuel poverty and striving against deforestation by providing improved cookstoves – Uganda
EcoAct will attend the event on September 5th and 6th, to discuss carbon finance, social impact of organizations and transition towards resilient territories. Convergences World Forum is expected to gather 8,000 delegates. Experts and global leaders will meet and work together to encourage innovative ideas to solve the social and environmental challenges of our times.
